Almost daylight

Turned on the light

And for the hundredth time I read your words on a page

It’s been five long years, since I was there

In your car with a beer, full of fear of being seen with you.

I’m so afraid of my yesterdays

Memories blend to a milky haze

My mind’s a craze

My heart’s a blaze 

With thoughts of you

The fall’s here              

And winter’s near

But the cold grabbed my bones

Turned to stone 

When I last saw your eyes

        

There’s a man in my room with a wooden head

Someone to fill your place in the bed

I haven’t even heard a word he’s said

 For thoughts of you

The wind has blown

My hair has grown

Remember the contest to see whose got longest the first

What would we be doing, what would you say?

I've a chill in my soul since tyou left me that day

My life is gray and I’ve gone astray 

With thoughts of you

Now it’s all been said 

And our hearts have bled
